Just like that, the happiest little baby I’ve ever met has reached a big milestone! Colton is officially sitting up on his own so he visited me in the studio for his sitter milestone session. Mom and big brother, Luke joined us and as always, I had the best time with them!
I can find a reason to love every type of session. And…depending on the day I may have a different favorite! But in general, I absolutely love this sitter milestone age, which is usually around 6-8 months. I loved it as a mom and love it as a photographer.
While sitting up is obviously a huge part of this milestone, around this age their little personalities are really starting to show as well. Your baby has likely discovered their hands and feet, starting to play with toys, and are interacting with you and their siblings. If I’m lucky they are may even share a few smiles with me too! We will document all of the little details that pass too quickly and you never want to forget!
First Year Collective – Sitter Session
The sitter session is part of the first-year collective. While you can choose to have it be just your baby, I encourage moms to allow us to pamper you and make it a mommy and me session. If you have older children, we will include them as well. This can be helpful in the event that your baby still needs or wants the comfort of having you close by, but it’s also a chance to be in the photos with your children.
I love watching babies snuggle into their moms and big kids tell their moms how much they love them. And that’s exactly what Colton and Luke both did! These boys love their mama! Luke is the best and most patient big brother and Colton was just smiled the entire time. As much as I know we all want to freeze time, it’s so exciting to see them reach their milestones. I have a feeling we’re going to see a lot more smiles from Colton throughout his first year!
