I cannot think of a better way to celebrate turning one than with a first birthday cake smash session! As parents, that first year is full of so many firsts. Rolling over, sitting up, first foods, crawling, first words, first steps, etc.. It’s all so exciting and maybe even a little bittersweet. I know I found myself stuck between wanting to freeze time and looking forward to all that was to come. I’m just so thankful that I am able to document these moments for families here in the Cleveland area so they never have to forget!
Ben’s first birthday session was full of snuggles smiles and cake. He was just starting to walk and we were able to document his little steps. I can only imagine how special that will be years from now. Trust me, I know! I feel like I was just watching my daughter take her first steps, and now I am preparing to watch her walk across the stage at her high school graduation.
When you come in for your baby’s first birthday cake smash session, we’ll take care of everything. This way you can focus on creating memories with your little one- they only turn one once! Mom had her hair and makeup done right here in the studio and then picked out a beautiful dress from the client wardrobe. Ben wore a little suspender set (always a client favorite) and a little knit romper.
After a few family photos, we moved into the much-anticipated cake smash portion of his first birthday session. I’m not sure if he liked the cake, the balloon or the bubble bath more. Either way, he could not have been more precious!
Installing Portraits In Your Home
Fast forward a few weeks and I had the opportunity to go to Ben’s house and install their favorite portraits. The first thing he did was point to his dada (of course!) then mama and then with the biggest grin on his face, he recognized himself! He’s barely one and but seeing his excitement reminded me of why it’s SO important to have portraits of your children and family hanging on the walls of your home.
Oh, and just for a little update…the sweet boy that was barely walking just a few weeks ago is now tall enough to fit on his new balance bike, climbing the stairs and throwing balls at me. These babies grow up so fast. Hold on tight because the next 17 years will go by too fast!
