I am so excited to share my first studio maternity session with you in my studio in Chagrin Falls. Until recently, I wasn’t photographing a lot of maternity sessions. In fact, almost all of my focus has been on newborn photography – baby’s first year. But with more and more Moms wanting to document their pregnancy, I have quickly fallen in love with these sessions!
Maternity Session Details
Although I have teenagers now, I still remember just how busy things seemed to get towards the end of my pregnancies. There are more doctor appointments and nesting has probably set in full-force. I don’t want the busyness of this season to take away from the joy and celebrating the little life you’ve created.
That’s why I have structured my business in a way that allows you to have a completely stress-free experience. From scheduling your maternity session to what to wear, hair and makeup, and then what to do with your photos- I’ve anticipated every aspect of the process and will walk you through all of it!
Scheduling Your Maternity Session
I recommend scheduling your maternity session between 30-34 weeks. This is usually the “sweet spot” for most Moms where your bump is really showing and you’re (hopefully!) still fairly comfortable. It also helps eliminate the possibility of missing your session should baby try to come early.
Maternity sessions are currently only offered as an add-on to your baby’s first-year collective. I take a limited number per year and recommend you reserve your session as early as possible.
What’s Included?
Everything. Yes, really. I mean it.
Imagine if all you had to do was show up to the studio with clean, dry hair and the rest is taken care of? Once you arrive at the studio, our hair and makeup artist will be ready for you. Sit back and allow yourself to be pampered! After that, you will have a chance to look through all of the dresses in the client wardrobe and pick the one(s) that you love most.
About two weeks after your session, we’ll meet briefly for your reveal and ordering appointment. I’ll walk you through the different options and help you determine what you want to do with your images. Many moms like adding some images from their maternity session to their growing first-year collective album or gallery wall.
Who’s Included?
That’s up to you! Some Moms choose to do their maternity session solo, while others want their spouse and/or children.
